NEW SINGLE: SEETALI 'Haunted' feat. Vital Mode, Christina Keen + Upcoming Album 'It's Not You; It's Me'

Walk into the wonderland of synths with producer Seetali’s single 'Haunted' feat. Vital Mode, Christina Keen
+ Forthcoming debut album It’s Not You; It’s Me out October 25

Producer and storyteller SEETALI is back with her wonderland of synths and electronic pop in her latest track ‘Haunted’, the next taste of her debut album It’s Not You; It’s Me, slated for release Wednesday 25 October.  Featuring the dynamic vocals of long-term friend Christina Keen, and Naarm-based producer Vital Mode, joining the tracklist for SEETALI’s forthcoming release, 'Haunted' will be released  Thursday 14 September.  While named after the common cliché breakup turn of phrase, It’s Not You; It’s Me is anything but, featuring previously released singles ‘Angel Eyes’, and collaboration with fellow Naarm producer Kevin Silvester on 'Love You Blind’, collating over 600k streams on a Twitch Spotify playlist.

Always with her finger on the pulse of storytelling amongst her crisp production, ‘Haunted’ follows the ghost or memory left behind in someone’s absence, told through the compelling vocals of Christina Keen alongside the collaboration with futuristic and melodic beat maker Vital Mode.  "By continuing to look for someone in your past, you feel like you’re moving through life haunted and it prevents you from living in the present. Sometimes the worst part about this feeling is you can't escape this person and you need to learn to coexist with the ghostly presence," explains SEETALI.

"I get swept away when singing them and have quite a visceral reaction. It's really lovely to hear those intense emotions reflected in the production of the song." - Christina Keen

It’s Not You; It’s Me is a journey that can only be described as a labyrinth of feeling, each track chaptered by different emotions, each character painting the experience with moments in time. Equal parts collaborator and creator, SEETALI's debut album features contributions from 10 artists, vocalists, and producers from Naarm/Melbourne, each work a standalone message and also part of the larger narrative. With intimately woven introspections of relationships and the consequent lessons of heartbreak, the material dives headfirst into declarations of love through album opener ‘Already Falling in Love’, and ‘Love You Blind’, with hooks and pop confections creating the backdrop for battles of head and heart in ‘Smoke’ and ‘Villain Never Dies’, and a symphony of cinematic pop and strings in recently released ‘Angel Eyes’. Moving through different layers of a synth filled atmosphere, the lyrics explore the inner workings of our inner critique in ‘walked away’ - a track described by triple j’s Claire Mooney as ‘An endearing track that swells big emotion’,  and ‘Pressure Points’, alongside the universal hardships of letting go with electropop bop ‘Learn To Let You Go’, and current single ‘Haunted’, as climbing beats close the album amongst a wash of reverb drenched choral harmonies for ‘Goodnight, Goodbye’.

Writing this album was like pouring my heart and soul onto a canvas of melodies and lyrics. All my highs and depressing lows are embedded into every line. Each note resonates with the echoes of my emotions, and every word carries the weight of every experience - SEETALI

First finding a love for music through her work as a guitarist, SEETALI developed and honed her craft as a producer; a new space for expression and songwriting through the lush soundscapes and vibrant melodies. Mentored by Sophie Forrest and Beatrice Lewis (Haiku Hands) through The Push’s Electronic Music Accelerator, participating in APRA's 321 Session and selected for Women of Music Production Perth’s 2023 Writers Camp.

SEETALI strives to break through barriers for other diverse producers in her work and career by breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes with the hope that every aspiring artist, regardless of their background, can find inspiration and see their own potential reflected in her journey.
