NEW VIDEO: Meaningful Stone 'The Fifth Spring' + SXSW Showcase

 Seoul based Meaningful Stone delivers stunning live performance of 'The Fifth Spring' featuring a string quartet ahead of her debut Australian shows at SXSW Sydney 2023

A musician who seeks and sings about the meaning of life, emerging artist Meaningful Stone might be new to the Korean indie scene but is wise in songwriting beyond her years. Having released her first full-length album, A Call From My Dream in 2020, this critically acclaimed album won "The Rookie of the Year" award at the Korean Music Awards in 2021, and notching up #34 on the US 2020 RYM charts. 

Meaningful Stone's 2021 EP release COBALT saw her move away from the dreamy sounds of her previous work, into a more garage sound and reinterpretation of the classic 1990s alternative rock. The EP's track 'Dancing in the Rain' went on to be nominated for the "Best Modern-rock Song" at the Korean Music Awards in 2022, with Meaningful Stone releasing three singles simultaneously; 'Kiddo', 'Psychomania' and 'Trash'. 

Taking over one of Sydney's newest venues purposely built for the first Australian edition of SXSW, Meaningful Stone will make her live debut in Australia at The Kyiv Social as part of the Korea Spotlight event on Friday 20 October, alongside synth-based indie pop band ADOY, the silky soul sounds of Jacqui, and a hip-hop set from Lil Cherry and GOLDBUUDA. The event doesn't finish there the Korean artists will move on to Sydney's recently reopened Abercrombie to an evening of networking.

Always exploring new styles and spaces, Meaningful Stone has released a stunning string saturated live video of her 2023 released folk single 'The Fifth Spring'. An ode to her partner, and inspiration for her artistic identity, this serenade is a celebration of their five years together. "It's a song I've kept in my mind for years. There are as many possibilities as there are many stars in the world. But to me, you are the largest number" - says Meaningful Stone about the track.
