NEW SINGLE: The Grogans 'Can't Stand' + Upcoming Album 'Find Me A Cloud'

The Grogans release an anthem of self assurance 'Can’t Stand’ ahead of fourth studio album Find Me A Cloud + Australia / New Zealand / Europe / UK tour

With a humble and hardworking ethos matched only by their down to earth mentality in making music, The Grogans are back with ‘Can’t Stand’; an anthem of self assurance and alleviation, as they gear up for the release of their fourth studio album Find Me A Cloud on Friday 20 OctoberFresh from their blistering Triple J "Like A Version" performance of The Kinks classic 'You Really Got Me' plus their debut at BIGSOUND 2023, the trio are not slowing down with tour dates across NZNSW, and VIC, plus their biggest show yet, supporting Ocean Alley at Spark Arena, and appearing at Yours & Owls, before heading back to Europe and the UK where support from BBC Radio 1's Future Alternative, Amazing Radio and Rock Antenne, one of the most influential German rock stations are pushing the tickets to sell fast!

Amongst Find Me A Cloud’s grunge and guitar, are melodic riffs and lyrics preaching a message of self worth, taking root in ‘Can’t Stand’, out Friday 22 September via C.W. Records“I went down a  little bit more of a personal route with this track lyrically. I sometimes find myself being the person I want to be in my head, but when it comes to a conversation I'm not able to convey the side of myself that I want to show” says The Grogans’ Quin Grunden. Reverb drenched retro guitars, catchy unison chorus, and laid back grooves make for a slower jam to their usual incendiary energy, allowing the essence of the lyrics shine through.

It dives into the pressures that can be put onto people's shoulders purely just for existing. Musically it feels a lot more mature for us and we really enjoyed trying out new sounds and direction for this one’ - The Grogans

Brimming with Grogans brilliance and genre bridge building, and an auditive aesthetic they dived headfirst into, Find Me A Cloud was recorded with Bones and Jones’ Jasper Jolley at Big Fridge Studio, released through C.W. Records. Joining released tracks ‘Nowhere To Be’, ‘I’m Not Sure’, and ‘I Cannot Read Your Mind’, and current single ‘Can’t Stand’, is a sun drenched collection of songs that meanders through their love of laidback summers in their surfside home, moments of country and western tinges, and throwbacks to sounds from earlier releases.

“It feels a little truer to ourselves and nostalgic than previous albums. We wanted to draw inspiration from the past whilst never trying to recreate it” - The Grogans

With a familial friendship that has seen The Grogans performing backyard gigs on the Mornington Peninsula to supporting bands including Ocean Alley, WAVVES (US) Hockey Dad and The Chats, sharing festival line-ups with Franz FerdinandLos Bitchos and The Teskey Brothers, the trio have completed a plethora of headline Australian & New Zealand tours including sell-out shows at The Croxton (VIC), Crowbar (NSW), The Brightside (QLD), Lion Art’s Factory (SA), Badlands (WA), and more. Having appeared at festivals nationally and internationally including Yours & Owls (NSW), Wanderer Festival (NSW), NYE on the Hill (VIC), Dauwpop Festival (NL), London Calling (NL), Beast Of A Feast (NZ), NinchFest (VIC), and more, this spring the band are getting ready to fly in the clouds the clouds of this new realm of music for their second Europe and UK tour of 2023.
