NEW SINGLE: Nat Vazer 'Strange Adrenaline' and announces upcoming album

Nat Vazer returns with her signature reverb-soaked sound for ‘Strange Adrenaline’ single
+ Announces 2023 album following debut US shows and SXSW

Naarm/Melbourne creator, Nat Vazer, is known for her heart-stopping lyrics that weave between confessional indie-rock and dream-pop, building on the folk tradition of storytelling through song. Recent singles ‘Addicted To Misery’ and ‘Born’ have seen Nat delving deeper into the haunting stories of the young songwriter and her expanding ritual of ‘building worlds’. Both tracks are the first taste of Vazer’s forthcoming second full-length album Strange Adrenaline announced for release on Friday 6 October 2023, along with a new single of the same title out Friday 26 May.

Vazer has hit the ground running in 2023, with releases premiered by Triple J and EarMilk, plus features from Under The Radar and Spotify Editorial playlist adds on Fresh Finds AU & NZ, and a packed few months of live shows including her debut US shows at SXSW, New Colossus Festival (New York City), and WFNM in Los Angeles.

Not even halfway through the year, Vazer releases her third single; a song about having the vision and guts to chase the unknown, in search of something bigger than yourself, “‘Strange Adrenaline’ were two words that jumped out at me one late night, while reading a Patti Smith novel.  The phrase captures that feeling of when you’re on the brink of something terrifying but extraordinary,” explains Vazer. Produced by Nat Vazer alongside Robert Muinos and mixed by Burke Reid, the blend of Nat’s signature reverb soaked vocals, and dreamy indie rock guitar, whisk you away amongst the exhilaration and venturesome lyrics of ‘Strange Adrenaline’ - ‘Caught a glimpse of the child still inside of you’.

2020 saw the release of Vazer’s debut album ‘Is This Offensive And Loud?’, which went on to be nominated for The Australian Music Prize and was listed in several best-album-of-the-year lists including NME Australia and The Music. The same year, Vazer was also nominated for Best Breakthrough Artist at the Music Victoria Awards.

Fast forwards to 2023, and the upcoming album can be described as a fast car on a lost highway, searching for the unknown, “each song on the album is a unique story told through the people, places and memories that have shaken me and stayed with me over time, says Vazer of her forthcoming second LP.  “In the world of “Strange Adrenaline”, there are 2 am diners where it’s too dangerous for lovers to hang, long drives back to childhood places, dark tales of Hollywood, recurring trauma, and visions of global warming and the end of days.”

Vazer has supported Vacations, Last Dinosaurs, The Magic Numbers, Jaguar Jonze, #1 Dads, toured with Lime Cordiale and Kingswood and has joined the festival lineups of Kyneton Music Festival, St Kilda Festival, Summersalt and more.

Showing no signs of slowing down for the second half of 2023,  Vazer’s sights are set high on returning to the US. However, we can currently enjoy her feet being firmly planted on Australian soil, with a guarantee of plenty of new music coming our way!

‘Strange Adrenaline’ Lyrics
Strange adrenaline
 On a desperate road
Waiting for a lift at 2am
Wake me up, I'm ready to listen
One more cigarette, 'I'm ok' she said
Keep your eyes on the dotted lines
Like the revelations in your head
Keep you awake all night
Can't explain it now
 With the windows down
With the wind through your hair
Caught a glimpse of the child still inside of you
Laughing as the sun comes out

Strange adrenaline
Feels like I might never come down again
Strange adrenaline
Picks me up whenever it feels like the end

Hear the city hum
 Look up from your phone
When the sirens go past and Dylan comes on
He’s still telling us how ‘the times are a -changin’

But I’m the comeback kid from the accident
And you’re the beacon of light in the middle of the night
In the rumbling dark, howling through the park
Holy I think you're on fire

Strange adrenaline
Feels like I might never come down again
Strange adrenaline
Picks me up whenever it feels like the end
Strange adrenaline, strange adrenaline
Feels like I might never come down again
