NEW SINGLE: The Grogans 'Nowhere To Be' + Video

'The Grogans are on fierce form, assaulting the ears with a typically blistering garage rock anthem'

'Sounding like early Parquet Courts, “Nowhere To Be” is chant-ready and primed to be a favourite on the band’s Northern Hemisphere sojourn.'

'a deliriously trippy and downright strange music video'

- Conor Lochrie, Song You Need To Know, Rolling Stone AU//NZ

The Grogans set off across the UK and Europe after sold out Australian shows + drop new single ‘Nowhere To Be’ out now via C.W. Records

From backyard gigs on the Peninsula coast to sold out bandrooms across Australia and New Zealand/Aotearoa, Melbourne’s three-piece force to be reckoned with, The Grogans are packing up and taking off for their first tour across the UK and Europe, celebrating their first London show at Islington’s 02 Academy in true Grogans style with a new single on Friday 5 May.

Nowhere To Be’ is the first taste of new music following the 2022 album WHICH WAY IS OUT, with tracks added to Spotify playlists Indie Arrivals, Local Noise, and more, growing a listening of now over 600,000 monthly listeners, and saw them on an Australian tour with their biggest sold out shows and first international tours and festival appearances in NZ/Aotearoa. The first taste from The Grogans next chapter, ‘Nowhere to Be’ continues in their stead of alluring songwriting, with an electrifying sound set to erupt on stage and have fans chanting at the top of their lungs.

Out Friday 5 May via C.W. Records, ‘Nowhere to Be’ turns the bitterness from pent up feelings into an upbeat guitar riff filled track, rich with The Grogans rock influences and melodic hooks. ‘Ever had nothing to do but still have endless tasks to achieve. Ever had nowhere to be yet your still late for something? Being cut in front of in a line or snaked out in the surf? You can’t decide to leave or to stay. Nowhere to be is a track of the pure frustration, day to day nothingness and the agitation of being restless mentally and physically.’ - The Grogans

Bringing life to the internal nightmare, The Grogans are releasing a visual alongside this single, directed by Willem Kingma. The video follows a man and his disconcerting paper mache head as he is stalked by creatures and monsters throughout the wild. The boys gave me lots of creative freedom on this clip, and it was such a great experience being able to drive around the Surf Coast with my brother Hamish weirding out the locals. We grew up down here and always made videos together, so it felt right to get him back in front of the camera with the big Paper Mache/Plasticine head. He’s always had a willingness to get messy for the camera, and a lot of the best ideas for the clip emerged from his performance while filming.’ - Willem Kingma

After a huge 27 date album tour around Australia & New Zealand including their biggest hometown headline shows to date. The Grogans captured audiences with their extensive catalogue at sold out shows at The Croxton, CrowBar Sydney, The Brightside 18+ & U18 shows Brisbane, Lion Arts Factory Adelaide, Mo’s Desert Clubhouse Gold Coast, Solbar Sunshine Coast, Torquay Hotel, Dicey Riley’s Wollongong, and The Royal Oak Launceston, plus not one, but two under 18’s shows at The Gasometer. Night after night, a choir of fans join the reverb drenched melodies of Quin and Angus, set to their irresistible guitar riffs and driving rhythms of drummer Jordan, basking in their genre-expanding experience.

As their truly unmissable act journeys to new countries and audiences all over the world, this next single ‘Nowhere To Be’ is sure to have you falling for The Grogans all over again.

'NOWHERE TO BE' LYRICS
Haven’t had a drink for the last hour
Keep getting snaked by some little hot shot
You never wanted me to leave you
But I did now I’m lost and I know
Cause I got nothing to do
And got nowhere to be

Haven’t had a drink for the last hour
Keep getting snaked by some little hot shot
You never wanted me to leave you
But I did now I’m lost and I know
Cause I got nothing to do
And got nowhere to be
I got nothing to do
And got nowhere to be
