From Zambia, to the UK, Paris and now calling Eora/Sydney Australia home, honey eye vocalist and soul/jazz performer Major Zulu, returns with her second single on Thursday 30 January, perfectly timed during the Australian summer. 'Down Under' is a musical celebration of this unexpected rediscovery – a joyous return to the authentic self, a newfound sense of belonging in this unexpected corner of the world, and a testament to the power of embracing the unexpected.

Hot off the back of the ‘Honey Honey’ single, the first taste of an upcoming EP I Am Major Zulu due for release on Friday 2 May, 'Down Under' is inspired by Major Zulu's relocation to Sydney and being awoken by the city's vibrant cosmopolitanism, the expansive Australian landscape, and its raw beauty with an emphasis on outdoor living, which stirred a forgotten sense of freedom and adventure.

'Down Under's' summery vibes are encompassed by Major Zulu's honey-eyed vocals and seductive saxophone solos throughout the track, backed by smooth guitar grooves that will have you sailing away into the Australian sunset by the ocean

From a collaboration with Grammy-winning band Basement Jaxx, as a featured lead vocalist on their track ‘Everybody’, to performing alongside the likes of Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, James Morrison, Paolo Nutini, and Earth Wind and Fire, Major Zulu has also captured audiences at sold-out shows including the Sydney International Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Vineyards, Art Gallery of NSW with her transcontinental personal narratives and immersive, thought-provoking lyrics, artful storytelling backed by her earthy vocal tones and timeless songs.
