Supports: Sarah Belkner + Captain Fighting Machine
Flying Nun award-winning artist Reb Fountain and band return to Australia for select headline shows and an appearance at Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues Festival this September with local artists Sarah Belkner in Naarm and Eora, and Captain Fighting Machine in Meanjin, to perform songs from her #1 New Zealand album, How Love Bends. Reb is known for her spellbinding performances and unapologetically raw storytelling, and fans across the country will finally have the opportunity to witness the magic that is Reb Fountain live at Eora’s (Sydney) The Trocadero Room, Naarm’s (Melbourne) Northcote Social Club and Meanjin’s (Brisbane) Black Bear Lodge.
Reb Fountain, an acclaimed New Zealand singer-songwriter, is known for masterfully weaving together noir folk, indie rock, and dream pop. Her magnetic stage presence, evocative lyrics, and haunting vocals have solidified her reputation as one of Aotearoa, New Zealand’s most compelling artists. In March 2025, Reb’s artistic journey reached new heights with the release of her most prolific work to date, How Love Bends, garnering critical acclaim and debuting at No #1 on the New Zealand Music Charts and featuring the singles ‘Come Down', 'Nothing' Like', 'Forever', and 'He Commands You Jump Into the Sea'. How Love Bends reaffirms her ability to craft music that is both visceral and poetic.
Reb’s breakthrough moment came with her self-titled 2020 album, Reb Fountain, cementing her place in New Zealand’s musical landscape. Released via iconic indie label Flying Nun Records, the album won the prestigious Taite Music Prize and earned widespread critical acclaim. Following this success, Reb released IRIS in 2021, with MOJO calling Reb, “New Zealand's next alt-folk sensation.”
Reb Fountain is celebrated for her electrifying live performances, a cornerstone of her artistic identity. Audiences who have witnessed her full artistic prowess on stage can attest to the compelling nature of her shows, where she masterfully crafts introspective narratives through her music. Her touring history includes notable artists such as Crowded House, Marlon Williams, Finn Andrews (The Veils), and Don McGlashan. In September 2025, she is slated to join Paul Kelly's tour in Aotearoa.
