NEW ALBUM: Emily Lubitz 'Two Black Horses' + Upcoming Tour

Out Now: Emily Lubitz releases debut solo album Two Black Horses + feature track 'Stay Tender-Hearted' + Album Tour Selling Fast

Lifting the veil on her debut solo album, Emily Lubitz releases Two Black Horses, her nine track LP produced by husband and long-time collaborator Harry James Angus, with focus track and video 'Stay Tender-Hearted'. With western influences, imagery and country tinged sounds, previously released tracks have been added across ABC Country, Spotify's Heaps Country, Chilled Country, and Tapestry, and Apple Music's New In Country and Southern Country editorial playlists. With one week till Emily's album tour kicks off, their first stop is a sold-out show at Naarm's Brunswick Ballroom, and another sold-out one at Shedshaker Taproom, before heading up the East Coast with more shows selling fast.

Two Black Horses is a deeply personal collection of songs that speaks to heartache, heritage and hope. 'My new record, Two Black Horses, sounds like an old Hollywood movie, starring Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline and Phoebe Bridgers, who go on holidays together and talk about their feelings.' - Emily Lubitz. Opening the album with a message of growth through hardship, 'Two Black Horses Tumbling Out Of The Snow' features a recording of Emily's mum and uncles singing a Swiss folk song, inspiring the melody of the track. Dipping into her classic tongue-in-cheek approach to success, the first single 'Big Time' and the story of a small town girl leads into the focus track 'Stay Tender-Hearted'; a dedication to her kids, 'It’s a wish for my kids. I wish them to maintain their soft hearts. Life is better with a tender heart.'

'Like many songs on this album, family has found its way into this tune. I guess I've been deep in family business for the last 14 years, so it's the thing I can write about with authenticity. This clip was shot on super8 film around our home. We don't usually put our kids into the digital-sphere but it felt natural to pair this song with images of them in situ. A monument to our daily life at this time, as the days move so quickly and they change and grow week to week.' - Emily Lubitz

The nine track work touches on impressions of unconditional love in 'Everything Good Is Somewhere Else' and the power of being loved through all shades of happiness, with all sides to holidays and homes playing out in 'Kardashian Winter' and 'My Simmer Holiday'. Continuing her themes of family, her recent single 'My Rita' follows her parents' story of forbidden love, with a gentle optimistic reminder in 'Don't Worry You Got Time' that we're as young as we'll ever be and have more time than we think; closing the record in true Emily fashion with a metaphor about the passing of time. "The song was originally written about passing the age of 27 and feeling like I’d dodged a bullet. With the whole 27 club thing. As I get older, it takes on new meanings. Having Jordie Lane sing with me on this track was very special," explains Emily Lubitz
