NEW SINGLE: Caiti Baker 'Stay Down'

Caiti Baker releases latest single 'Stay Down' taking on self doubt and imposter syndrome

Producer, artist, and creator Caiti Baker is releasing her first new music of 2024 with the new single 'Stay Down,' the first taste of an upcoming body of work. Following the last couple of years spent mentoring young artists, establishing a girl group CLINK with fellow artist Juran Timu, honing her skills as a vocal producer with Emily Wurramara, and supporting Jessica Mauboy, George Benson, Pete Murray and musical icon Tim Minchin, Caiti is ready to unearth her message of perseverance with this next chapter, out Wednesday 10 April via Gyrostream.

Tackling internal battles with the personification of imposter syndrome 'Stay Down' is set to an infectious beat, with thanks to producer and longtime collaborator James Mangohig aka Kuya James, hinting at 90s pop boom bap nostalgia, and upgraded with samples and club 808s. Infusing a K-pop arrangement and bent guitar licks for added ear candy, the upbeat anthemic chorus is a cry to put self doubt where it belongs; down, on the ground, under your feet that will be dancing all over it.

'I began to question my purpose as a creative… The daunting symptoms of imposter syndrome had begun to surface. I took a breather, prioritised some time in my bedroom studio, pulled up a new instrumental from my co-producer James Mangohig aka Kuya James, and I just processed everything there on the spot. I wrote and recorded “Stay Down” in 4 hours' - Caiti Baker

A multifaceted genre defying independent artist, and collaborator, Caiti Baker first joined the music scene as one half of electro-soul duo Sietta (with James Mangohig), since working with the likes of Emily Wurramara, and Taiwanese Paiwan Indigenous singing group The Ancient Ballads Troupe, and many more.

Over the last few years, Caiti has delved head first into vocal engineering, producing an ARIA nominated multi-artist lullaby album The Moon, the Mouse & the Frog: Lullabies From Northern Australia for ABC, alongside her own releases, and winning Folk Category for NT Music Song of the Year Awards with her unreleased music. Her music has taken her across Australia and internationally, having performed alongside A.B. Original, Briggs, the Ministry of Sound, Jessica MauboyGeorge BensonTim Minchin and more.

Come and confront all your self doubt and dance it all away with Caiti's latest single 'Stay Down'.
