Folk Alliance Australia’s ‘Youth Artist of the Year’ Oceanique release ‘Time Passes’ a song about drifting and distance in relationships +  Would The Light Hold Me album vinyl and CD pre-orders

Winners of the 2022 Folk Alliance Australia ‘Youth Artist of the Year’, sister duo Oceanique, are flying into 2023 with an enchanting new single ‘Time Passes’ out Wednesday 22 February, along with the announcement of their debut album ‘Would The Light Hold Me’, and vinyl and CD pre-orders available now. Their ethereal harmonies and undeniable sibling bond have mesmerised audiences across the country with the album's first three singles ‘Emotional Weight’, ‘Hiding from You’, and ‘Like I’m Living’, and their first east coast appearances at the Australian Folk Music Awards 2022 in Melbourne and Tasmania’s Cygnet Folk Festival. The Western Australian twins are basking in the excitement of this forthcoming album slated for release on Wednesday 29 March plus upcoming shows supporting Emily Barker and appearances at Canberra’s National Folk Festival 2023.

Out Wednesday 22 February, ‘Time Passes’ is “a song about the feeling you get when you return to life after time away. You're watching on, have some kind of idea but no one's saying anything, and you've missed information, somewhere in the time passed. A song about distance, drifting apart from the people you love and navigating life whilst time just keeps on moving,” explains the pair.
The angelic sisterly bonded vocals, piano melodies, and the driving drums and bass of James Newhouse, together soundtrack the lyrics as they navigate the consuming feelings that come with the world moving on around you, their continuous harmonies layering like the past versions of ourselves that exist as we continue to evolve - “Give me time to process, the layers that have been added to the person I once knew”.
