Meet the Community Radio Tastemakers at the AMRAP BIGSOUND Listening Sessions

Thursday 3 September 2026 - 10.00 am – 2.00 pm
The Warrar Room, The Precinct
Level 2, 315 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley

Back by popular demand, the amrap.org.au BIGSOUND Listening Sessions return on Thursday 3 September, offering delegates the chance to meet the music programmers and presenters behind some of Australia's most influential community radio stations, including fbi.radio (Sydney), PBS FM (Melbourne), 4ZZZ (Brisbane), EDGE Radio (Hobart), Three D Radio (Adelaide) and more.

If you're an artist, manager, label or publicist heading to BIGSOUND, don't miss one of the week's most valuable opportunities to get your music in front of the people who champion new Australian artists every day.

Bring your latest release, hear honest feedback, ask questions and learn what makes music stand out for community radio airplay. Whether you're preparing your next single, planning a campaign or looking to build momentum around a release, these sessions provide practical insights from the broadcasters who discover and support emerging Australian music.

Launched in April, landmark research confirmed what artists and the industry have long known: community radio is the lifeblood of Australian music discovery and contributes more than $153 million annually to Australia's music economy and plays more than twice as much Australian music as all commercial radio stations combined.

At the centre of this ecosystem is amrap.org.au, the free platform used by thousands of community radio broadcasters across Australia to discover new local music.

During the Listening Sessions, the AMRAP team will also demonstrate how artists and their teams can use the platform to upload music, maximise exposure and connect with community broadcasters nationwide.

Community radio stations are more than broadcasters; they're passionate champions of Australian music and essential cultural hubs that help launch careers, build audiences and introduce listeners to new sounds from every corner of the country.
