NEW SINGLE: Tanaya Harper 'Remnants' with message of self love

Lean into learning self-love in Tanaya Harper’s latest single ‘Remnants’ out Thursday 23 November

Lean into learning self-love in Perth grown songwriter Tanaya Harper’s next single and first new music of 2023 ‘Remnants’, out Thursday 23 November. First emerging from beloved indie-rock band Bells RapidsTanaya Harper’s solo project has solidified her as a leading lady of Perth’s original music scene, with insightful lyricism that resonates with audiences as she weaves silken melodies with her experiences of depression, anxiety and living with bipolar disorder.

Out via MGM, ‘Remnants’ was recorded and mixed by Anna Laverty at Fremantle’s RADA Sound Studio, exploring the inner world and workings of self love, and its overwhelming impacts on relationship dynamics and attachment styles and patterns. Amongst Tanaya’s breathtaking piano and vocals and layered cello from Anna Sarcich the lyrics act as a gentle reminder that we must love ourselves first before others -  ‘Never believed I could trust, Never thought that I'd be loved, Never thought this could be real for me’

"Remnants was written during a songwriting retreat with Producer, Anna Laverty. I woke early in the morning to a quiet chalet, sat at the piano and started writing. The song is a meditation on how abandonment issues often negatively impact the ability for healthy relationships to flourish. Feeling genuine love and respect for the self is imperative for healthy relationship dynamics to develop, so Remnants is my ode to this learning chapter."
