The awaited album Decial Like Special from rising rapper and HALO Vocal Ensemble’s MC Strictly D.T is finally here, breaking down barriers around challenging topics with his musical genius. Previewed in 2022 with singles ‘My Life’, ‘BLOOD TYPE REAL’, ‘WHERE YOU FROM’, and ‘DRIFT AWAY’ and kicking off 2023 with the last single ‘Flower feat. Alex Ford + Liona Tatafu, this next release is as collaborative as it is immersive, diving into DT’s uplifting spirit and energies. Gearing up to celebrate this album in full swing, DT is taking his reflective lyrics and breathtaking bars to the Northcote Social Club stage on Saturday 25 February for Chapter 7 in the Sensible Soirees series, with performances at Moomba Festival and Red Door Sessions Live later this Autumn.
Out now, Decial Like Special takes on topics of mental health, relationships, family dynamics and more through the lens of Strictly D.T and his community. This collection of 22 works dives into often stigmatised conversations so frequently kept behind closed doors, with the tracks interspersed with sampled recordings from D.T’s nearest and dearest, and even his therapist. As an artist believing wholeheartedly in the significance of collaboration, Decial Like Special is no exception to D.T’s philosophy, collaborating on each and every track with local and Australian artists, producers, rappers, DJs, and more.
